Events

During the course of the year the Museum actively supports it's exhibition programme with a range of events. The intention is to generate interest from as wider audience as possible ranging from educational events for schools as well as more technical talks appealing to computer professionals.

Recent events include the following:

Computers on the Move talks

To support the launch of the Museum's portable computing exhibition, a series of talks were held during Autumn/Winter of 2004 with guest speakers and demonstrations from some of the leaders in the mobile data industry.

The programme was as follows:

"From organisers to powerful handheld computers and high end mobile phones" by Mark Hodgson, PalmOne.

"The latest developments in 3G mobile networks that allow even more data to be downloaded on the move at high speeds" by Ian Bartlett, Motorola

"The role of the mobile computer in work and play - then, now and the future" by Andrew Greenhalgh, Intel.

Nintendo gaming day & exhibition

A Nintendo gaming day was held with competitions and prizes, plus a Nintendo exhibition.

On display were the NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Gameboy and Game & Watch collection and also the rare Virtual Boy and a Nintendo PlayChoice 10 arcade machine - a big thanks to Oxford Exhibition Services for transporting this for us free! There was also a mini exhibition charting the history of Nintendo.
